Teachers in today's digital classroom are always looking for the next great Web 2.0 application or social media tool that will engage students in the K-12 world. Sometimes, an "old" tool is better than a new one.

Below is a YouTube video, in which Mark Horvath discusses his own YouTube project, aimed at helping homeless people.

This is the sort of thing that gets me wondering if social media can be used to teach valuable digital learning skills, while also teaching kids about humanity.
