You've probably been asked time and again, What would you do with 10 million? Of course, you assume that means dollars?

Who needs money, though, when you can have the power of a network. So, the more important question is, What would you do with 10 million people? That's 10 million people in your personal network.

Socialbits.net reported that pop icon, Lady Gaga, surpassed 10 million Facebook fans in July of 2010.

Edtech professionals are as into social media as anyone. We are all about building Twitter followers, Facebook fans and our Ning communities. Of course, to teachers, it's more than fandom. It's a Personal Learning Network (PLN). The Twitter followers and Facebook fans are really other educators, who can improve our skills or with whom we can share some of our ideas to better teaching and learning.

Who knows if Lady Gaga even looks at her Facebook page? Her publicist may be the only person actually posting to it, for all we know.

Shocking to those of us who post to blogs, Facebook or Twitter every day, hoping to teach or learn something new.

So, 10 million Facebook fans may be meaningless to Lady Gaga, but what if you had the power of 10 million people in your PLN?

What would you do with it?
