This week has been very exciting as Learn it in 5 has been hard at work, rolling out our newest feature, which we believe may be our best yet. Although Learn it in 5 is built on powerful how-to videos about Web 2.0 and social media applications for teachers, at the core, we're really about helping teachers be more effective in the classroom.
Videos for your class
With the idea of making teachers' lives easier, we decided to create the Videos for your class category, a new and ever-growing library of videos that serve as "jumping-off" points for classroom discussions and lessons.
Videos for your class are powerful, brief videos that cover anything from World War II to struggling food banks. The videos come from YouTube, CNN and many other excellent sources and are created by a large audience.
The best part of Videos for your class is that your work is minimized. Rather than sifting through thousands of videos at YouTube or other sources when you need a quick discussion starter or an enrichment tool, just visit the Videos for your class tab here at Learn it in 5, or do a simple search in our search bar on the right side of our banner.
We'd love your help
Since teachers know the best tools for teachers, we'd love for you to share your own powerful videos with us. Just send a link to a video you use that others might be interested in using to us at our contact page or paste the video link into a comment space on the Videos for your class section. Either way, we'll find it and post your video; we'll even give you credit and include a link to your blog or twitter stream.
Just a baby
Videos for your class is in its infancy, so you'll only find a pocketful of videos there now. Our goal is to have several hundred up by spring break. With your help, we know we can make it.
Please share your feedback about our new section, either here or in a Tweet. We'd love to hear from you.
