Why does the president think education has to compete?
Although recent news reports lead us to believe that President Obama will focus tonight's State of the Union address on education, it's hard to see it in this video, which previews the speech.
In this brief video, President Obama suggests that we need to "out-educate other countries."
What's the point? Why don't we just throw out high stakes testing and allow teachers to do what they do best? Is it really important to compete in the world of education?
