How-to video: Glogster, the interactive, web-based poster application

NOTE: this video is an update of an older version, published March, 2012, after Glogster updated its features.

Brief synopsis: Glogster is a fun Web 2.0 application that teachers or students can use to build creative, interactive online posters. Glogster, located at Glogster.com, allows users to easily add graphics, pictures, video, audio and text to colorful backgrounds that Glogster provides. The Glogster posters can be viewed on any computer with Internet access or projected onto an Interactive white board for students to view in the digital classroom.

Benefits: Glogster is one of the most user-friendly Web 2.0 applications you'll find. You can begin creating a Glog even before you register, with a single mouse click. One simple toobar offers uploads of graphics, pictures, video, audio and plenty of pre-designed backgrounds. Glogster is free, but an upgrade with a fee gives the user more options and space for housing completed Glogs. There is a privacy feature, which teachers may want, if students are creating Glogs in class.

Drawbacks: Some school districts block the standard version of Glogster. Educators may want to use Glogster EDU, which comes with a fee and has a much larger learning curve.

Conclusion: The how-to video above demonstrates how to create an interactive, web-based poster, or Glog, using the Web 2.0 application Glogster, in 5 minutes or less.
