How-to video: Upload, maintain and share pictures with Flickr

By: Howcast

Brief synopsis: Since the advent of Web 2.0., there's  no better way to house your photos than with an online picture hosting program, like Flickr.

Benefits: Flickr is extremely easy to use. As the video demonstrates, it's all point-and-click with Flickr, and your pictures are uploaded to a web-based system that can be easily organized, maintained and shared, via social media tools or e-mail. Flickr allows for privacy settings, so you can decide what pictures you wish to share. This can make Flickr a powerful classroom tool.

Drawbacks: There is a learning curve with the group management feature, although groups are a nice way to organize and share pictures, once you are comfortable with the feature. Some school district firewalls block Flickr.

Conclusion: The how-to video above demonstrates the web-based picture application Flickr.
